Meet Allison


Touted for her “enthusiasm, professionalism, and commitment in every students’ success and development,” Allison Chu offers a unique and holistic approach both as a pedagogue and a pianist. She specializes in piano lessons for students of all ages, skill levels, and artistic/professional goals. Students are individually guided for personal artistic development and expression and are invited to participate in Studio Events, including Performance Classes, Guest Artist Performances, and Master Classes, and Recitals. Her goal is to create and build a lifelong appreciation of music and art from the start. 

Ms. Chu holds a Bachelor's in Music (BM) in Classical Piano Performance and a Bachelor's in Science (BS) from the University of Southern California. Ms. Chu has also received a Master's in Music (MM) in Classical Piano Performance at USC’s Thornton School of Music under the tutelage of renowned pianist Antoinette Perry, where she was awarded a Teaching Assistantship position by the Keyboard Studies Department. Her previous teachers include Vera Hoalim and Dr. Louise Lepley, who she studied with at the Colburn School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles.

Ms. Allison has performed in Master Classes for Daniel Shapiro, Boris Zarankin, Ory Shihor, Robin McCabe, Craig Sheppard, Santiago Rodriguez, and Nelita True, and has participated at music festivals in Germany, Montecito and Seattle. She has also been a prizewinner at competitions, including SYMF, Cypress College Piano Competition, CAPMT Music Festival, MTAC Solo Competition and a finalist in Southern California’s Bach Festival.

Ms. Allison is a member of the Music Teachers Association of California.
