Lessons

Allison's teaching philosophy is to guide curious minds in an interactive & comprehensive learning experience and build a lifelong appreciation of the arts. Private piano lessons are offered weekly for lengths of 30, 45, and 60 minutes. Lessons are tailored to fit each student’s individual music needs & goals. Areas covered include a strong foundation in performance, practice strategies, music theory, piano technique, musicianship, and performance.

Beyond weekly lessons, Allison's teaching includes Studio Events, Performance Classes, Guest Artist Presentations, and Recitals at the end of each semester.

What You Need to Get Started:

All students must have an acoustic piano (recommended) or weighted 88-key digital keyboard with a sustain pedal at home. For online classes, a laptop or tablet is required (preferably Apple iPad or MacBook), and a reliable internet connection (a minimum of 20mpbs download and 5mbps upload, please see speedtest.net).

Student Expectations & Practice:

Students are responsible for lesson preparation & having all necessary materials ready each week. Regular, consistent practice is expected for steady progress. The length per practice session should be about the length of each lesson, depending on age and level. For high school students and younger, parental support & involvement is essential for musical success.
